The Diffuse Glow effect renders an image as though it were viewed through a soft diffusion filter. Bright areas glow with a diffused light, while other areas are muted with a soft granularity.
Graininess
Move the slider to the right to add more grain to the image and to the left to add less grain.
Glow Amount
Move the slider to the right to have more area of the image affected by the glow and to the left to have less area affected.
Clear Amount
Move the slider to the right to have more area of the image clear, or not affected by the glow. Moving the slider towards the left allows less of the image to be clear.
The Diffuse Glow effect uses the host program's current background color (if available) for the glow color.
Tip
• To create a hand-colored look:
1. Apply the Diffuse Glow effect to a color image.
2. In the host program, duplicate the resulting image into a new document.
3. Remove the color from the duplicate image by first converting it to a grayscale image, then converting it back to a color image using the host program’s tools.
4. Copy and paste one image into the other and blend 50% between the effected color and grayscale images in the host program (if available).
